Mother's Day....Celeb Style by Uni Q Creations

Biz Cards on their way for Mothers Day 2012.....

Mother's Day to me is a time of relaxing and spending some time with my husband and my boys. Never in a million years did I think I'd also spend it with the most beautiful and admirable CELEBRITY MOMS!

Well in one way, shape or form anyways....Let me explain.....

While trying to come up with a design for my business cards I again was glued to my computer. I was getting flustered because just nothing seemed to work. So I decided to take a break and check my email. Sifting through I see a post from Valerie, Founder of The Artisan Group, of which I am a member, and it said she was thinking of adding business cards to the gift bags for Mother's Day and Earth Day. I had to make a choice. I couldn't do both so I jumped on the Mother's Day Gifting op.

For Mother's Day, I think it turned out great, but I do have other things coming up so I'm thinking I may change it up a little. Will let you know what I come up with....

Opportunity Knocked Twice....My Gift for Jenny McCarthy!

Once Again I got an amazing opportunity to gift a famous celebrity who I admire for many reasons. We have so many things in common. She's a mom who has a son with Autism, She's a Woman Entrepreneur, She's an advocate for Autism Awareness and that is why I am honored to say I was able to send a piece of my handmade jewelry to

As we enter a new year with great expectations and accomplishments, Uni Q Creations, in association with The Artisan Group, was recently selected to gift a custom piece of jewelry to be included in a silent auction gift bag for the National MS Society. This will be our first gifting and also a very proud and honored moment for us. We gifted our Hematite and Yellow Topaz Swarovski Crystal Anklet. Topaz or Citrine is also the birthstone for November.

YES ...you read that correctly. Some of my items will be going directly to "Tori Spelling."

Ok Let me explain..

So there I was just sitting at my computer, going through email after email and I see this name pop up. After blinking a few times, because clearly I must have read it wrong and finally realizing after a minute that I didn't...I SCREAMED! 

OMG! Seriously!!!??? The email said there would be a lottery for 30 names to be selected to be part of a Celebrity Gifting for Tori Spelling and and her family. HOW COOL IS THAT! Some of my handmade jewelry items would possibly be gifted to "The Queen Maven" herself. I was super excited just have my name in that hat. ok..time to breathe...name is entered and must walk away knowing if it was meant to be it will happen.

So prior to this lottery there had been another one for a very BIG A-list actor who I shall not name. I didn't get picked for that one unfortunately. So on the day for this one to be drawn,  I walked away from my computer, sat down with my 3 boys and watched tv. You see last time there was a lottery, I watched the names be drawn and although I was sad my name wasn't picked, I was elated for the people who were.

Ok, so later on (now 3 days later after the original announcement), I sit down once again to go through HUNDREDS (no exaggeration) of emails and THERE IT WAS!!!  

"Congratulations!! Your name was selected this afternoon in the lottery for our special opportunity to gift celebrity Tori Spelling!" (insert Hyperventilation, over abundance of screaming and my boys looking at me like I've lost my head...here)

Again ...OMG!!!! Seriously?!!??! WOW!!!  

After a nights sleep (barely) and calming down a little (not really lol),  I gathered myself up enough to realize, I have to come up with something to make. My first thought was her daughter Stella and how they call her "Ladybug" or "buggie". So I came up with this bracelet with flowers and a little ladybug that sits on her wrist.

The Start of Something New

Every year I try to start something new...So this year, 2012, I'm starting anew by letting things go...Focusing on the good and positive things in my life and business.

So with that said... Let me share with you some of the things I have created so far and some new ideas I have in the works for this year.

This bracelet I just LOVE!!! It was a custom order and boy did I ever go searching for these square, blue Tiger eye (hawks eye) beads. The client wanted something small and dainty since her wrists are tiny. So I found these 12mm size beads that were a perfect match. Added a few Argentium Silver rounds and clasp just for the finishing touch. 

This is only the beginning....Can't wait to show you what else I have in store in the days to come and the BIG adventures that await me this year.
